The Fishing is great and the catching isn't bad either!!
 There are many happy and successful fishermen. Walleye fishing was good all season.
Annual Stocking Program - This fall the LVD Lake Association released 2150 juvenile (hatched in May) muskies. This should keep the musky fishing in good shape for some time to come.
Lac Vieux Desert is a 4200 acre Michigan-Wisconsin boundary water with trophy Musky, Northern, Walleye, Bass, Crappie, Perch, and more. Pan fishing provides fast action for fisher persons of all shapes and sizes.
If you want to try a different lake there are over 1000 lakes within a short drive. May 1st, 2010 will signal the opening of fishing season (musky opens May 15). The Musky season closes Dec. 1 and northern and walleye closes March 1. You need a Michigan or Wisconsin fishing license, but not both.
Lac Vieux Desert is known as a trophy musky water so the size limit on musky is 40 inches. Late September, October and early November have been the peak times for trophy muskies. You may hire a local guide - current rates are approximately $350 per day including equipment. We will be happy to arrange a guide for you.

The year around fish cleaning house is a huge success. It's toasty warm with running water and is located behind the lodge. No more making a mess in the cabins or having to clean the fish outside.
